The Office of Development at Epiphany Cathedral School

The Office of Development works to secure a greater base of support for Epiphany Cathedral Parish and School by working with families, alumni, parishioners and partnering parishes as well as the community to garner support for our ministry of Catholic education. This includes establishing and fostering relationships with local and national foundations to secure funding through grants and partnerships.

Today, rising costs continue to push up the costs of tuition while meeting individual student needs. Many families believe that they cannot afford to provide a Catholic education for one, let alone multiple, children. The Office of Development works to connect donors to those families via financial and estate planning as well as annual donations and events to benefit the school.

In addition to fundraising, Epiphany’s Office of Development oversees marketing and enrollment efforts to ensure greater visibility of the school within the community and among prospective students and families. Working with the school board, principal and enrollment committee, the Office of Development implements and monitors programs designed to market Epiphany Cathedral School for image and enrollment.

Planned Giving

Name Epiphany Cathedral School in your WILL OR BEQUEST to receive cash, securities, or other property at the time of death and 100% of funds received will go to directly impact the life of a student at Epiphany Cathedral School.

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITITES give to the donor while also giving to Epiphany Cathedral School. In exchange for gifts of cash, appreciated stock, or other assets, Epiphany Cathedral School agrees to pay the donor a fixed income for the rest of their life or the lives of both the donor and the spouse. The percentage income you receive is determined by the donor’s age.

LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES offer a very special vehicle for charitable gifts because the size of the gift is usually many times the actual amount of the premiums paid up to the date of death. Existing insurance policies, newly purchased policies, or combinations of old and new policies can be integrated into a gift-giving plan.

Gifts of STOCKS, BONDS AND SECURITIES that have increased in value can provide another means of reducing income taxes. Please contact our Development Office to alert them of a transfer of stocks or bonds and receive a DTC number for electronic stock transfers.

Ministries Often Named for Memorial or Planned Gifts Include:

Youth Ministry

Memorial or Honorary Contributions

Many want to memorialize the loss of a loved one or celebrate a special anniversary or birthday with a donation in lieu of flowers and gifts. These contributions can go directly to Epiphany Cathedral School and the Development Office will provide an acknowledgement to both the donor and the family of the deceased or the individual(s) to be honored. Contributions over $500 receive special recognition on the donor plaque hung in the school hallway.

Personalized Bricks

Donors are invited to build the path between faith and knowledge with a personalized brick. The bricks are installed in the School Courtyard between Epiphany’s Santa Maria Chapel and the side entrance to the school. The courtyard is a beautiful setting where students gather as a school each morning for prayer and announcements. Bricks are $125 and normally take 6-8 weeks to engrave and install.

Epiphany Angel Program

Many students want a Catholic education, but are in need of tuition-assistance. The Epiphany Tuition and Lunch Angel Programs enable donors to make a contribution of any amount to assist with a student’s tuition. There are angels of all sizes! Some adopt a family of students, some adopt one student and some just give a contribution towards tuition or to help buy lunch for a week for a child. These donations can be made anonymously and are a wonderful way to make an immediate difference in the life of a child.

Annual Giving

Epiphany Cathedral School’s annual appeal enables the school to keep tuition costs affordable, while providing an education program that focuses on the whole child. Gifts to the annual appeal make it possible to maintain affordable tuition and provide financial aid to deserving students. In addition this appeal enables us to upgrade technology and provide continual professional development for our faculty and staff.
